"Jasper…" His voice is hoarse, broken, and I feel lower than the floor. "Do you… are… I mean... do you want to marry me? Because…"
"God yes, Edward. That's all I want. I know it was completely unfair to think that just because… just because…"
"I'm a kid," he fills in, his voice part-teasing, part-hurt.
"Oh, baby, I'm sorry. That's how it sounds; isn't it?" My words tumble out as I try to explain – or, rather, try to make him understand where my mind was. His answers soothe me, and my heart lifts when I finally hear his confidence return.
